Question: What is the Biblical New Covenant?
There is some disparity of understanding on this point!
Jesus said in Matt. 26:28, that He was describing “the New Covenant in His Blood”, NKJB. However, it is noted that the “Nu-Text” omits “new”. The NASB refers to Exod. 24:8, which indicates that Jesus is confirming the 1st. Covenant, “in His Blood”; which also confirms His statements re. His mission to Israel, (Matt.15:24) which they rejected at Acts 28:25–28!
This confirmation at His “Last Supper”, gives continuity to Almighty God’s 1st. Covenant with His Chosen People; and points to the time when God will renew the Covenant with Israel (Jer. 31:31–34).
In the meantime, Israel is Lo-Ammi, (not My people); and the offer originally made to Israel is open to all the world’s people, which makes the harvest for Almighty God even greater!
This will end when the events of Zech. 12:10 occur, and Israel after great mourning, will be renewed into “the New Israel” as per. Ezek.39:21–29!
